# Target a specific issue or PR from a URL

To fire a pipeline, paste a GitHub issue or pull request URL. You do not need a pipeline name or flags. `trigger.patterns` selects the pipeline by URL prefix, and a `from:` mapping pulls the identifier of that item into a typed arg. The `issue-solve` pipeline uses this path to target the exact issue a pasted URL names.
